Kristin Petro, Owner Design has been a part of Kristin Petro's life for twenty years, first in the television industry and now fulfilling her passion for interior design. In 2006, she started Kristin Petro Interiors, Inc., and has been thrilled with the variety and scope of the interior projects she’s created to date. With an eye for space, composition and scale, Kristin specializes in creating efficient floor plans with a strong emphasis on unique materials and architectural details. She works closely with builders, contractors, vendors and artists to ensure that her vision is fully implemented, and that the design process is as enjoyable to her clients as it is to her.
Melissa Tase, Designer Melissa Tase has honed her creative skills through the years, first as a marketing and advertising coordinator, and now as an interior designer. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University, Melissa found her creative niche and received an associate degree in Interior Design from the College of DuPage. She believes in creating spaces that are beautiful, functional, sustainable and livable. Melissa has been honored to work on projects as varied as designing a living room, to renovating a bathroom into a personal spa, to decorating a vacation home in the desert, to selecting finishes and fixtures for a new home construction. Whatever the project, Melissa creates spaces that reflect the passions and style of the homeowner.
Sheri Gibson, Designer Originally from the Boston area, Sheri Gibson brings the fresh and comfortable New England sense of style to many of her interiors. Since 2005, Sheri has been designing spaces that are both sophisticated and warm, delivering timeless design with an eye on current styling. Easy to work with and a great listener, Sheri utilizes her background in both art and psychology to ensure an enjoyable design process, culminating in a cohesive look that represents her clients' lifestyles and interests.
Laura Marie Thill, Designer Laura Marie realized her calling for design while she was volunteering to help rebuild homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. She then attended Illinois State University, obtaining a degree in Interior and Environmental Design. In addition to having an especially keen eye for color and fabric, she also specializes in window treatments and tile design. Her role at Kristin Petro Interiors allows her to work on a variety of projects, from furnishing entire homes to paint consultations. Her designs are creative and are extremely thoughtful of her clients’ needs.
Kelly Colonna, Designer Kelly Colonna knew at an early age that design and art were going to be her lifelong passions. With a Bachelors’ Degree in Interior Design from The Illinois Institute of Art, and previous studies in Oil Painting from the American Academy of Art, she is able to turn any space and canvas into a work of art. Kelly’s previous employment provided her with extensive experience in new construction homes, residential design, space planning, tile layouts and kitchen and bath design. Studying both fine art and interior design has equipped her with a unique skill set to go above and beyond each client’s vision.
Maureen Winans, Design Assistant Maureen has been involved in merchandising her entire career. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a double degree, she went to work for Sears, where she held various positions, including Product Development Specialist and New Store and Remodel Coordinator. Most recently, Maureen worked as a Design Specialist at Pottery Barn. Constant research on new trends and products is an important aspect of Maureen’s role at Kristin Petro Interiors, Inc. She also assists the designers in facilitating order preparation and coordinating custom furniture and window treatment orders.
Lindsey Dyer, Project Manager Lindsey grew up with an interest in the creative arts and design. After attending Harrington College of Design, she managed the office of a successful commercial construction company. Lindsey’s experience with construction ensures our projects run smoothly and efficiently as she facilitates all communication between the designers, contractors and clients. Her attention to detail helps to keep even the largest projects organized and maintained.
Jody Timmer, Business Office Manager Jody started her own interior decorating business in 1991. After several years, she was invited to work at an independent interior design showroom, managing orders for hundreds of designers. Twenty years later, she comes to Kristin Petro Interiors, Inc. to use her business knowledge and skills in the interior design industry to place and track orders for our designers and clients. Jody believes that providing excellent customer service to KPI, Inc.’s clients is her top priority.
